O objetivo do projeto é, através de um experimento de enriquecimento de CO², pesquisar como o aumento do CO² atmosférico pode afetar a resiliência da floresta Amazônica, a biodiversidade que ela abriga e os serviços ecossistêmicos que ela fornece. This project (jointly with German collaborator scientists funded by DFG) ? initiates the long-term ecosystem modeling activities within the AmazonFACE (Free-Air CO2 Enrichment) experiment that is initiated in central Amazonia aiming to investigate the effects of increased atmospheric CO2 on the ecology and resilience of the forest ? which is also the major objective of this proposal.

Este projeto de pesquisa de pós-doutoramento, decorre da percepção sobre a importância de se preservar a memória das fazendas históricas do interior paulista, mais especificamente da região de São Carlos, Estado de São Paulo, Brasil. Essa preservação pode se dar com base nos registroEs fotográficos de Haroldo Palo Jr. (1953 - 2017), fotógrafo, documentarista e naturalista brasileiro, cuja produção artística, científica e cultural ganhou notoriedade e é reconhecida internacionalmente.
